governos precisam agir conquista energia sustentável futuroFriday, day 15 de junho foi o dia Mundial do Vento quando milhares de pessoas terão a experiência da energy eólica em mais de 200 events in at least 40 countries of the world. The Global Wind Day is pressing world leaders present at the Conference in Rio +20 to double the amount of renewable energy up to 2030.

Wind energy is currently used in more than 75 countries of the world, with 21 of them having more than 1.000 MW installed. The current capacity of more than 250 GW installed is more than 30 often used for only 15 years ago when the Kyoto Protocol was signed in 1997.

Industry estimates show that wind energy, with the right policy support, will double in capacity up to 2015, and again by the end of this decade, providing 9 – 12 % global supply of electricity. This will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 1,5 billion tons per year, save billions of gallons of precious freshwater, e contribuir para a Security da energia e estabilidade dos preços nos países em todo o mundo; but, for wind energy and other renewable energies meet your full potential, Governments have to act.

The leaders present in Rio has the opportunity to establish a new course on the basis of a more sustainable energy future. A iniciativa do Secretário-General da ONU Ban Ki-moon, Sustainable energy for everyone calls for universal access to energy, two times more energy efficiency and more renewable energy up to twice 2030.

Kandeh K. Yumkella, o Diretor Geral da Organização das Nações Unidas para o Development Industrial (ATTACHED) and the leader of the initiative of the Secretary-General said: “We have to double the amount of renewable energy in the overall energy mix up 2030. This can be achieved with a significant contribution from wind power, tanto dos systems conectados em grade e de pequena escala descentralizados. The ‘ World Wind Day’ in 15 June has an essential role in contributing to the Sustainable Energy Initiative for All of the UN Secretary-General, to attract the much needed support for the wind energy industry on the part of political leaders from around the world”.
